Cusco
ist das historische Herz der Inka-Kultur.
Es liegt mit seinen 3.416 m Höhe und
etwa 320.000 Einwohnern im Zentrum des peruanischen
Andenhochlandes.
Als Hauptstadt des Inkareiches hat sie so
einige Sehenswürdigkeiten zu bieten.
Das Stadtzentrum bildet der Plaza de Armas.
Hier befindet sich die Kathedrale sowie die
Kirche San Francisco. Doch auch der Sonnentempel
Coricancha oder auch Cristo Blanco, eine weisse,
sich über der Stadt erhebende Christusstatue
sind nicht weit entfernt. Man kann die Stadt
leicht zu Fuss erkunden.
In der näheren Umgebung befinden sich
u.a. die kleine Ortschaft Chinchero und das
Heilige Tal, in welchen man Inkaruinen bewundern
kann.
Das Highlight eines Cuscobesuches ist und
bleibt jedoch ein Ausflug zu dem berühmten
UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe, dem Machu Picchu! Diese
verborgene Inkastadt Peru´s lässt
sich bequem mit dem Zug erreichen, auf dessen
Reise man eine wunderbare Naturlandschaft
zu sehen bekommt. |

school is located in the historic city center.
Next to a quaint square with a beautiful fountain,
one block from the Inca archaeological monument
Coricancha (sun temple), restaurants, bars, craft
markets, museums, banks, hotels and the Plaza
de Armas.
Our building, renovated in 1950, provides students
with a comfortable and familiar environment.

Our Spanish language programs are designed so that
you will meet your Spanish goals in a short period of
time.
Join one of our programs (start date every Monday):
- Group Lessons: 20 hours per week, 12 levels, maximum
7 students per class
- Private Lessons: 10-20 hours per week
- Group + Private: 25-30 hours per week
Holidays:
School will be closed on the dates below, these lessons
will not be refunded or made up.

Other holidays lessons will not be refunded. A conversation
club will be organized instead.

HOUSING IN CUSCO more
There are several housing options. We can reserve you
a room in a student apartment or organize a home stay
with a local, upper-middle class Chilean family. Of
course, it is also possible to arrange your own accommodations.
ACTIVITIES

During the week you
can explore the narrow streets and diverse museums
and witness local cultural events. You can also
try some delicious Peruvian cuisine! On weekends
you can visit the monuments and tourist attractions
around Cusco. In the Sacred Valley lies the city
of Pisaq and its craft market as well as the ruins
of Chinchero and Ollantaytambo, examples of Incan
urban planning. If you're an adventurous nature
lover, you can take a trip to Manu National Park
or Pongo de Mainique in the jungle. |
Tip: Before you go to Machu Picchu, you should stay in
and around Cusco for a few days. Being that both Cusco
and Machu Picchu are at very high altitudes, your body
will need some time to adjust. One remedy is to drink
coca tea, a local drink.

The 3 weeks I spent in Peru were very nice
and exciting. Besides good food, Peru offers beautiful
scenery and an interesting culture. The Inca temple
and other works in Cusco and its surroundings,
like Machu Picchu or the Sacred Valley, are impressive.

Cusco was the second
ECELA school I attended in South America. I learned
more spanish there then anywhere else. I absolutely
loved my time there. Cusco is a perfect sized city
which is very touristic, but still retains a lot
of it's cultural herritage and charm.
Both the student house and the school were in a
great area and very close to the Plaza de Armas.
The staff in Cusco was so friendly and helpful.
Everyday there was something fun planned, from horseback
riding in the nearby ruins, to shopping at the local
markets. At night I felt comfortable going out with
the group, and the places we went to were very nice.
One night there was even a live band that I loved.
I also went to Machu Picchu, and even though I didn't
go with the school, they were so very helpful in
helping me plan my trip. I highly |
recommend doing the entire
Inca Trail as there are many impressive ruins
along the way. But ending at Machu Picchu was
the best. My only regret is that I wish I could've
had more time there!

Unsere Schule befindet sich in einem ruhigen Viertel
und ist nur fünf Blocks vom Stadtzentrum
entfernt. Dennoch sind in der Nähe viele Geschäfte,
Bars und Restaurants.
Zum Gebäude gehört auch ein Hof, dort
ist es möglich Mittag zu essen und
für Partys an der Schule. Viele der Unterkunftsmöglichkeiten
befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft
der Schule.

Unsere spanisch Sprachprogramme wurden so erstellt,
dass Du Deine Ziele in kurzer Zeit erreichen kannst.
Wähle eins unserer Programme (Anfang jeden Montag):
- 20 Stunden Gruppenkurs, 7 Niveaus, 5 Studenten max.
- 10-20 Stunden-Privatunterricht
- 25-30 Gruppe+ Privat
Die Schule wird an folgende Tagen geschlossen sein,
diese Lektionen werden nicht zurückerstattet oder
nachgeholt.

UNTERKUNFT

Während Deines Aufenthalts kannst Du zwischen
zwei verschiedenen Unterkunftsoptionen wählen.
Du kannst ein Zimmer in einer Wohngemeinschaft oder
in einer Gastfamilie, oberen Mittelstands, buchen. Natürlich
ist es auch möglich Dir selbst ein Zimmer zu suchen.
FREIZEIT

Während
der Woche kannst Du die schmalen Straßen
von Cusco, Museen und lokalen Feste entdecken.
Du kannst auch das unterhaltsame Nachtleben
genießen. Erlebe die Landschaft dieser
schönen Stadt und die schmackhafte peruanische
Kochkunst!
An den Wochenenden kannst Du die Denkmäler
und Touristenattraktionen um Cusco besuchen.
Im Heiligen Tal, zum Beispiel, kann man
die Stadt Pisaq sehen und ihren Handwerksmarkt,
die Ruinen von Chinchero oder Ollantayta
besuchen, es ist ein Beispiel wie die Stadt
zur Zeit des Inkas plant wurde.

Wenn Du abenteuerlich bist und Natur liebst, kannst Du
eine Reise in den Manu National Park oder nach Pongo de
Mainique im Dschungel unternehmen
SPEZIAL PROGRAMME
Spanisch
und Freiwilligenarbeit
Durch Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Einrichtungen und
gemeinnützigen Organisationen bieten wir verschiedene
Möglichkeiten an, um als Freiwillige/r in Peru zu
arbeiten, zum Beispiel, mit Straßenkindern, mit
Behinderten oder älteren Menschen.
Die Dauer des Programms: Freiwilligenarbeit dauert 1 bis
6 Monate.
Kombinationen
Mit ECELA kannst Du nicht nur Cusco kennen lernen, sondern
auch Zeit in Lima, in Buenos Aires, Argentinien und
Santiago, Chile verbringen.
In jeder unserer Schulen haben wir dasselbe Unterrichtsprogramm,
dieselben Dienste und hohe Qualität. ECELA lädt
Dich ein, verschiedene Orte während Deiner Reise
zu entdecken.
Flüge: Zwischen den Städten gibt es direkte
Flüge; zwischen Lima und Cusco und auch zwischen

Meine 3 Wochen in Peru waren super schön
und unglaublich aufregend. Peru hat ausser dem guten
Essen, wunderschöne Landschaft sowie verschiedene
Kulturen zu bieten. Die Inkatempel und –bauten
in Cusco und Umgebung, wie in Machu Picchu und dem
Heilige Tal zu finden, waren atemberaubend. Ich
kann nur jedem eine Reise nach Peru empfehlen!
